Listed are some helpful herbs and supplements for this condition.  However, you must take care of your overall health through a physician.


Your blood glucose levels (blood sugar) goes too low and cannot give your body the energy it needs to support your activities.

Angostura Bitters, Artichoke Leaf, and Gentian Root- Internal Purposes: These herbs may assist in balancing the blood sugar levels.

Astragalus or Licorice Root- Internal Purposes: To assist your body in dealing with stress, try these two herbs.  Cautions: Stop using licorice after seven days. If your physician has advised you that you have high blood pressure, choose a different herb. Don't use if you are pregnant or are nursing.

Bilberry & Wild Yam-  Internal Purposes: Insulin levels can be regulated by using bilberry and wild yam.

Dandelion- Internal Purposes: Dandelion Root can be an excellent place to get your calcium needs and can support the liver and the pancreas.

Gudmar (Gymnema sylvestre)-  Internal Purposes: This belongs to herbs that are Ayurvedic in nature. It is responsible for preventing the absorption of saccharides into the intestine. This, in itself, can deviate fluctuations in blood sugar.

Licorice- Internal Purposes: The adrenal glands will gain quite a bit of benefit from the nourishment provided by licorice.  Cautions: Stop using licorice after seven days. If your physician has advised you that you have high blood pressure, choose a different herb. Don't use if you are pregnant or are nursing.

Milk thistle-  Internal Purposes: Milk Thistle can restore the liver to its normal state.

When too much thyroid hormone is produced, hyperthyroidism occurs. When this condition is present, the body has a fast metabolism. Nervousness, irritability, insomnia, frequent bowel movements, etc. may accompany hyperthyroidism. Growths on the thyroid may be a cause of hyperthyroidism

Multivitamin and mineral complex Importance: High  Comments: High doses of vitamins and minerals are necessary for this disorder. Super-high-potency formula is recommended.

Vitamin B complex Importance: High  Comments: Beneficial for healthy thyroid function. Injections under a physician's care are available.

Vitamin B1 (thiamine) Importance: High  Comments: Helps with formation of blood. Improves energy levels.

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) Importance: High  Comments: Promotes healthy functioning of cells, glands, and organs.

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) Importance: High  Comments: Boosts enzymes. Promotes healthy immune system. Enhances production of antibodies.

Urticaria or hives is a relatively common form of allergic reaction that causes raised red skin welts that range upwards from 5 mm (about a 1/4 inch) in diameter, itch severely, and often have a pale border. Urticaria is caused by direct contact with an allergenic substance (generally a plant, such as poison ivy), or an immune response to food or some other allergen. Hives can also be caused by stress. Urticaria is also known as nettle rash or uredo.

Alfalfa, Bilberry Extract, Cat's Claw, Chamomile, Echinacea, Ginseng, Licorice, Nettle, Sarsaparilla, and Yellow Dock- Internal/External Purposes: These ten herbs contain properties for soothing and aiding the hives. Alfalfa is a blood purifier that cleanses the blood and rids the body of toxins. Cautions: Do not use Chamomile for extended periods of time and if allergic to ragweed, do not use at all. Licorice and ginseng is not to be used if you have high blood pressure. Do not use on a daily basis for more than seven days at a time.

Aloe vera-  External Purposes: Has soothing qualities that can be applied to the affected area.

Black Nightshade Leaves-  External Purposes: Make a poultice with this herb by doing the following: Wash and boil the leaves in water, place them on a towel and apply this poultice to the affected area.  Cautions: This herb is not to be taken internally and make sure you don't touch your eyes with this on you hands.

Red Alder Tree Leaves and Bark-  Internal/External Purposes: Make into a strong tea, apply it topically to the affected area and also take two tsp. Internally. Repeat this procedure several time daily until the hives are gone. Tannin is an astringent contained in this herb.

A person who gets overly excited easily is hyperactive. It is usually accompanied by a short attention span and a strong display of emotions. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism are closely related to hyperactive people.

Quercetin- Importance: High  Comments: Decreases the effects of allergies on the system.

Calcium and Magnesium- Importance: High   Comments: Soothing.

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-  Importance: High  Comments: Soothing and calming like a tranquilizer with no side effects or chance of addiction.

Vitamin B complex- Importance: High  Comments: Enhances brain function and digestive process. Improves function of adrenal glands.

Vitamin B3 (niacin)- Importance: High  Comments: Enhances brain function and digestive process. Improves function of adrenal glands. Caution: Those who suffer from gout, liver disorders, or high blood pressure should not take niacin.

Pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5)- Importance: High  Comments: Alleviates stress.

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine)- Importance: High  Comments: Enhances brain function.

Substance manufactured by the liver and other organs and consumed via animal fat. High-fat diets increase the amount made. It is believed that high levels lead to collection of cholesterol in the arteries, possibly leading to serious health risks.

Cayenne (capsicum), Goldenseal, and Hawthorn Berries- Internal Purposes: May be beneficial in lowering cholesterol.  Cautions: Do not use goldenseal for more than seven days, and don't take it if you are pregnant. Check with your doctor if you have been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or glaucoma. If allergic to ragweed, use Goldenseal with caution.

Spirulina- Internal Purposes: The Phytonutrients from Spirulina are said to enhance the immune system and aid in lowering blood pressure.

Fiber- Importance: High   Comments: Reduces cholesterol.

Garlic- Importance: High   Comments: Reduces cholesterol levels and blood pressure.

Vitamin C- Importance: High   Comments: Reduces levels of cholesterol.

Vitamin E- Importance: High   Comments: Enhances circulation. Emulsion makes it easier for the body to use quickly.
